Vitamin C has been used in the Saltwater/Reef Keeping community for a number of years. Albert Thiel has been a leader in this technique and has created a number of webpages dedicated to the use of Vitamin "C". Albert also researched and developed a Vit C product that is buffered and is for sale to enhance the use of Vit C in your aquariums.

In this webpage his webpages have been reproduced in their entirety with the permission of Albert for easy access by those of us in the Goldfish community. The reason for doing this is because, even though, these pages are accessable on his and others' webpages in the saltwater/reef keeping community, they are some times difficult to find.

Needless to say, these webpages are oriented to the saltwater community with only slight references to freshwater useage. I personally have used this Vitamin "C" technique with great success, but a word of warning. The techniques put forth here in these pages can be used in freshwater, but with the same cautions when referencing buffering of your water. This goes to say, that this is a critical aspect to consider and must be dealt with accordingly. Vitamin C, if not buffered properly, can crash your pH very quickly, so mind the cautions.
